In the context of making policies and developing the manufacturing sector, especially the Micro and Small Industries (IMM), accurate data and information are needed. BPS conducts the 2019 Annual IMK Survey. The IMK survey is expected to provide and provide a comprehensive picture of IMK profiles and data covering the distribution of IMK, raw materials, labor, and so on.
Industrialization not only gave birth to large and medium-sized companies with a workforce of more than 20 people, often referred to as Micro and Small Industries (IMK). The emergence of IMK is not only due to the factor of industrialization, but also to the multiplier effect along with the growth of large and medium scale processing industries.
The manufacturing industry sector is generally believed to be able to be the driving force of the national economy. This is related to the manufacturing industry sector which has a linkage between sectors and intra-sector. In the context of IMK, the inter-sectoral linkages, especially to the primary sector (agriculture in general) are quite large. Amid the declining contribution of the primary sector, IMK's business was able to bridge the further development of the primary sector to the secondary sector. The era of globalization and information is also driving structural changes in society. Economic policies that were previously centered on the large industrial sector, have now turned increasingly incusive by involving all sectors to develop, including micro and small scale industries.
IMK business development is seen as an important one. The 2015-2035 National Industrial Development Master Plan (RIPIN) has placed small industries in particular as a contributor to the national economy. Steps taken by making the supply chain (supply chain) in synergy between the manufacturing industry sub-sectors.
