Work visit Head of the Office of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (DPPPA) of OKU Regency Ir Arman, MSi along with the Head of Women's Empowerment Yosi Handayani, S. Sos and staff in order to improve the performance of the OKU Regency DPPPA and the BPS of the OKU Regency.

This intimate and interesting discussion resulted in an agreement / agreement on the utilization and provision of OKU Disaggregated Data and Children available in the BPS of OKU Regency. Hopefully this collaboration can be beneficial and prosperous to the OKU community.

The term Gender is used to explain the different roles of women and men who are innate as God's creations. Gender is the differentiation of roles, positions, responsibilities and division of work between men and women determined by the community based on the nature of women and men deemed appropriate according to the norms, customs, beliefs or habits of the community.

1. Gender Development Index (IPG)

It is used to measure the achievement of the same dimensions and variables as HDI, but reveals the injustices of achieving men and women.

IPG = HDI ratio of women to men

IPG can be interpreted alone

The closer it is to number 100, the smaller the inequality that occurs between women and men

IPG <100, women's achievements 

IPG = 100, women's achievements are the same as men's

IPG> 100, achievements of women> achievements of men

OKG Regency's GDI in 2018 is 94.01 higher than in 2017 which is 93.46.

While the IPG of South Sumatra Province in 2018 was 92.62 while in 2017 it was 92.43.

2. Gender Empowerment Index (IDG)

• IDG shows whether women can actively participate in economic and political life.

• IDG focuses on participation, by measuring gender inequality in the economic field, political participation, and decision making.

• The IDG calculation method still refers to the old methodology until the Gender Inequality Index (IKG) can be calculated.

OKG Regency IDG in 2018 was 57.32 higher than in 2017 which was 56.84.

Meanwhile IDG South Sumatra Province in 2018 was 74.37 while in 2017 it was 73.53.
