Regional Inflation Control Coordination Meeting

Monday (26/02/2024), BPS OKU Regency attended the Virtual Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control in the Region in 2024 held in the Regional Government Vicon Room. The virtual meeting was attended by the OKU Regional Secretary, Assistant II, Head of Service, Head of BUMD and Head of vertical OPD or representative. The speakers for this meeting came from various agencies such as BPS RI, Presidential Staff Office, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, BULOG, Indonesian Prosecutor's Office. POLRI, etc.

This meeting, chaired by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, discussed the evaluation of commodity price developments that influence inflation. Based on the Price Development Index for the 4th week of February 2024, the commodities that contributed the most to the increase in IPH were red chili rice, purebred chicken eggs and purebred chicken meat. In the rice commodity there was the highest increase in the number of districts/cities compared to other commodities. Real steps are needed to stabilize prices for 20 commodities considering that next week will be the beginning of March and the fasting month will enter. Efforts that need to be carried out by the local government include price and stock monitoring, TPID technical meetings, maintaining supply, planting movements, cheap market operations, market inspections, coordination with commodity producing areas, realizing BTT, and providing transportation assistance.
