Inspection of the market in order to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadan 1445 Hijriah

Friday (08/03/2024), the Head of BPS Ogan Komering Ulu Regency together with the Price, Finance and Tourism Statistics Team took part in market inspection activities to welcome the holy month of Ramadan which was attended by Assistant II to the OKU Regency Government, Deputy Chief of OKU Police, Kadin for Food Security and related OPD representatives at Pasar Atas Baturaja.

The inspection was carried out to review the stock and prices of basic necessities ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2024. From the results of this interaction, the prices of basic necessities experienced price fluctuations. The price of rice began to decline to IDR 15,000 to IDR 18,000 per kg. For granulated sugar, there has been an increase from IDR 16,000/kg to IDR 17,000/kg. Purebred chicken meat has increased from IDR 25,000 per head to IDR 28,000 per head. Several commodities with fixed prices compared to last week are red chilies, cayenne peppers, garlic, shallots and purebred chicken eggs. Regarding the stock of necessities ahead of Ramadan and during Eid al-Fitr, it is still considered safe. Prices of basic commodities on the market are in accordance with the law of demand. Therefore, the public is advised not to carry out excessive buying, if there is a lot of demand then the stock of goods will be small, resulting in an increase in prices.
