Hello #Data Friends
Tuesday (28/05/2024), OKU Regency BPS together with the OKU Regional Development Planning, Research and Development Agency carried out consultation and coordination activities on Macro Economic Indicators which took place at the OKU BPS Office. This activity is a form of harmonization between BPS as a data producer and local governments as policy makers. The activity began with remarks from the Head of BPS OKU Regency, Mukti Riadi, SST. M.Sc. He said that ongoing collaboration between BPS and the local government is needed to improve community welfare.
The resource person for this activity was a young statistician who holds the position of head of the Regional Accounts and Statistical Analysis function of BPS OKU, Mitra Larasaty Adami, SST. In the speaker's presentation, it was stated that OKU's economic conditions are currently heading towards urban areas, where the leading sectors focus more on the trade and processing industry sectors. However, the government also needs to pay attention to farmers in OKU, because almost fifty percent of workers in OKU work as farmers, so to reduce poverty and improve OKU's economy, one effective effort is to improve the welfare of farmers.
Finally, the meeting agenda closed with the handover of a charter certificate by Bappelitbangda to BPS OKU as a symbol of BPS's working partner with the regional government. It is hoped that this activity can help local governments produce policies that are right on target and effective and increase economic growth in OKU Regency.
