Tuesday 4 June 2024. BPS OKU Regency, represented by the Head of the Price Statistics Team, Karmila Putri, attended the Virtual Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control in the Region in 2024 which was held in the Regional Government Vicon Room. The virtual meeting was attended by Assistant II, Head of the Regional Secretariat's Economic Division, Head of Service, Head of BUMD and Head of vertical OPD or representative.
This routine meeting is held for the purpose of monitoring and controlling prices, especially at the district level. The speakers for this meeting came from various agencies such as BPS RI, Presidential Staff Office, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, BULOG, Indonesian Prosecutor's Office. POLRI, etc. This meeting, chaired by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, discussed the evaluation of developments in commodity prices that influence inflation. Nationally, IPH districts with the highest price increases reached 7 percent. Based on the Price Development Index for the 5th week of May 2024, the OKU Regency IPH experienced inflation of 0.71 percent. The commodities that contributed the most to the decline in IPH in OKU Regency were red chilies, purebred chicken meat and purebred chicken eggs.
Nationally, the commodities that experienced the largest price increases were shallots, red chilies and granulated sugar. Regional governments need to be vigilant about these commodities to avoid significant price increases.
