Monday (14/10) BPS OKU Regency, represented by the Head of the Harha Statistics Team, attended a Virtual Coordination Meeting on Inflation Control in the Regions in 2024 held in Assistant Room 2 of the Regional Government. The virtual meeting was attended by the Head of the Regional Secretariat's Economic Division, Heads of Departments, Heads of BUMDs and Heads of vertical OPDs or their representatives. This routine meeting is held for the purpose of monitoring and controlling prices, especially at the district level. Resource persons for this meeting came from various agencies such as BPS RI, Presidential Staff Office, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Agriculture, BULOG, Indonesian Prosecutor's Office. POLRI, etc.

This meeting, chaired by the Inspector General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, discussed the evaluation of commodity price developments that influence inflation. Nationally, IPH districts with the highest price increases reached 3 percent. Based on the Price Development Index for the 2nd week of October 2024, the OKU Regency IPH experienced deflation of 0.24 percent. The commodities that contributed the most to the decline in IPH in OKU Regency were red chilies and wheat flour. Nationally, the commodities that experienced the largest price increases were shallots, cooking oil and purebred chicken eggs. Regional governments need to be vigilant about these commodities to avoid significant price increases.
