OKU Regency Regional Inflation Control Meeting, 4th week of December 2024

Monday (23/12). As a member of the OKU Regency Regional Inflation Control Team, the OKU Regency BPS has a role in maintaining and improving inflation control in OKU Regency. One of the routine activities carried out by the TPID is attending the inflation control coordination meeting held virtually by the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs which was broadcast in the OKU Regency Government Vicon Room.

The OKU Regency BPS as a member of the TPID Team attended the Virtual Coordination Meeting on Discussion of Regional Inflation Control in 2024 which was held in the Assistant II Room of the Regional Government. The virtual meeting was attended by the Head of the Economy, Head of Service, Head of BUMD and Head of vertical OPD or their representatives. This routine meeting was held in order to monitor and control prices, especially at the district level. The meeting speakers came from the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs, the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture, and BPS RI. The meeting, led by the Acting Minister of Home Affairs, discussed the evaluation of commodity price developments that affect inflation.

Nationally, the Regency IPH with the highest price increase reached 4.04 percent. Based on the Price Development Index for the 3rd Week of December 2024, the OKU Regency IPH experienced inflation of 2.19 percent. This value is ranked 2nd in South Sumatra. The commodities that contributed the most to the increase in the OKU Regency IPH were red chilies, oranges, and chicken eggs. Nationally, the commodities that experienced the largest price increases were shallots, red chilies, and garlic. The local government needs to be aware of these commodities so that there is no significant increase in prices.
