Economic Census (SE) 2026 Implementation Meeting

Baturaja – On Thursday (23/7/2026), BPS Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ulu held an Implementation Meeting for the 2026 Economic Census (SE2026), attended by the internal ranks of BPS Kabupaten OKU. The meeting was held to discuss overall readiness ahead of the SE2026 data collection, covering preparation, implementation coordination, and activity evaluation.

The Economic Census is a data collection activity carried out by BPS to capture the condition and structure of the economy comprehensively, down to the smallest regional level. The results serve as important material for the government, business actors, and academics in formulating policy, development planning, and data-driven decision-making. For this reason, thorough preparation at the district level is the main foundation for the success of this activity.

During the meeting, several key agenda items were discussed, including the readiness of logistics and data collection instruments, mapping of working areas, and the implementation schedule for each sub-district. The meeting also addressed cross-team coordination mechanisms to ensure all stages of SE2026 run in line with the nationally established timeline.

Evaluation of activities that had already taken place was also a focus of the meeting. Notes and findings from previous stages were reviewed together to ensure that any shortcomings could be promptly corrected before data collection moved into its next phase. This step was considered important to maintain data quality from the very start of the process.

The meeting also served as a forum for each division to align its understanding of SE2026's targets and technical provisions, so that field implementation can later run uniformly and in accordance with established guidelines.

The meeting proceeded in an orderly and focused atmosphere, with discussion centered on concrete steps to ensure the smooth implementation of SE2026 across Kabupaten OKU.

Through this meeting, BPS Kabupaten OKU reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the 2026 Economic Census runs according to plan and established provisions, so as to produce accurate, complete, and reliable economic data as a basis for regional and national development planning.
