Abstract

  • The description of export development in South Sumatra Province has fluctuated from month to month, in the January-August 2011 period South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 3,527.71 million.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in August 2011 decreased by 11.23 percent compared to July 2011, from US $ 451.27 million to US $ 400.61 million.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in August 2011 was US $ 400.61 million, consisting of oil and gas exports of US $ 33 million and US $ 367.61 million from non-oil and gas commodity exports. The value of non oil and gas exports in August 2011 decreased by US $ 49.41 million from July 2011. The exports of 7 mainstay commodities decreased in August 2011. The largest decline in the value of non oil and gas exports in August 2011 compared to July 2011 occurred in rubber commodities of US $ 67.92 million, followed by Shrimp commodity export of US $ 0.46 million, and coffee of US $ 0.38 million.
  • South Sumatra's exports in August 2011 to the United States, China and Malaysia were the main destination countries, each reaching US $ 116.97 million, US $ 64.73 million and US $ 57.66 million, with the roles of the three reaching 59.75 percent of total exports.
  • The loading port for commodity exports from South Sumatra in August 2011 was the main port of Boom Baru with a value of US $ 362.26 million, followed by the Port of Plaju at US $ 33 million and the Port of Kertapati at US $ 5.35 million.
