Abstract

  • South Sumatra Economic Growth in the third quarter of 2011 (q to q) experienced a growth of 5.4 percent (with oil and gas) and 6.6 percent without oil and gas compared to conditions in the second quarter of 2011. While the development of year on year (y on y) experienced growth of 6.1 percent with oil and gas and without oil and gas 7.7 percent compared to the conditions in the third quarter of 2010.
  • The amount of GRDP based on current prices in the third quarter of 2011 reached Rp.48.36 trillion with oil and gas and without oil and gas Rp.34.58 trillion. While GRDP at constant 2000 prices with oil and gas in the same period reached Rp.17.70 trillion and without oil and gas Rp.14.28 trillion.
  • The three sectors that experienced the highest growth (q to q) were the agricultural sector 13.5 percent, the trade, hotel and restaurant sector 6.1 percent, and the transportation & communication sector 5.3 percent. As for growth (y on y) the construction sector was 16.5 percent, the transportation & communication sector was 11.1 percent, and the trade, hotel and restaurant sector was 8.2 percent.
  • On the usage side, in the third quarter of 2011, most of the GRDP was used to meet household consumption at 61.2 percent, government consumption at 10.0 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation at 24.1 percent and net exports at 2.6 percent (exports 38.2 percent and imports 35.6 percent)
  • Economic growth in use (q to q) shows positive growth in all components except for exports of goods and services which grew negative 0.4 percent. While the year on year (yo y) development is positive in all components with the highest growth in exports and imports of goods and services respectively by 13.5 percent and 17.6 percent
