A. RICE

• Rice production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) was 3.30 million tons of dry unhusked rice (GKG), down by 89.42 thousand tons (2.64 percent) compared to 2011. The decline in production was due to a decrease in harvested area and productivity, respectively each decreased by 15.10 thousand hectares (1.92 percent) and 0.32 quintal / hectare (0.74 percent).
• Rice production in 2013 (Prognosis Figures) is estimated to reach 3.41 million tons of MPD, up by 115.41 thousand tons (3.50 percent) compared to 2012. This increase in production is expected due to an increase in harvested area of ​​13.56 thousand hectares (1.76 percent) and increased productivity by 0.73 quintal / hectare (1.71 percent).

B. CORN

• Corn production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) was 112.29 thousand tons of dry shelled, down by 13.40 tons (10.66 percent) compared to 2011. The decline in production was due to a decrease in harvested area of ​​4.35 thousand hectares (13.19 percent), while productivity has increased by 1.11 quintal / hectare (2.91 percent).
• Corn production in 2013 (Prognosis Figures) is estimated at 113.76 thousand tons of dry shelled, up by 1.47 thousand tons (1.31 percent) compared to 2012. This increase in corn production is expected due to a significant increase in productivity, reaching 0 , 54 quintal / hectare (1.38 percent), while the corn harvest area decreased by 19 hectares (0.07 percent).

C. SOYBEAN

• Soybean production in 2012 (Provisional Figures) was 12.16 thousand tons of dry beans, down by 1.55 thousand tons (11.29 percent) compared to 2011. The decline in production was caused by a decrease in harvested area of ​​942 hectares (10.83 percent) , and productivity also declined by 0.08 quintal / hectare (0.51 percent).
• Soybean production in 2013 (Prognosis Figures) was 10.78 thousand tons of dry beans, down 1.38 thousand tons (11.33 percent) compared to 2012. The decline in production was caused by a decrease in harvested area and productivity of 859 hectares each (11 , 08 percent) and 0.04 quintal / hectare (0.26 percent)
