Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in December 2013 was 100.86 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2013 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared with the previous month, the December 2013 NTP increased by 0, 98 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is greater than an increase in the index of prices paid by farmers in general
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in December 2013 was 104.49 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2013 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of December 2013 increased by 0, 93 percent. 
  • NTP without fisheries in South Sumatra in December 2013 was 100.87 percent, indicating that in general farmers purchasing power in December 2013 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in December 2013 increased by 1.03 percent .
  • NTUP Without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in December 2013 was 104.55 percent, indicating that in general farmers' purchasing power in December 2013 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, the December 2013 FTT increased by 0.98 percent.
  • The NTP and NTUP of Food Crops in South Sumatra in December 2013 were 95.84 and 98.20 percent, respectively, indicating that the purchasing power of food crop farmers in December 2013 was lower compared to the 2012 base year. When compared to the previous month, NTP and The NTUP of food crops in December 2013 rose by 0.36 and 0.24 percent respectively.
  • Horticulture NTP and NTUP in December 2013 were 107.26 and 110.78 percent, respectively, meaning that the welfare level of horticultural farmers was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTT and NTUP of Horticulture in December decreased respectively by December 1.45 and 1.52 percent.
  • NTP and NTUP Smallholder Plantations (Planters) in South Sumatra in December 2013 were 101.02 and 105.65 percent, respectively, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still higher than the base year in 2012. When compared with the previous month , NTP and NTUP planters in December 2013 increased respectively by 2.32 and 2.28 percent.
  • NTP and NTUP of Farmers in South Sumatra in December 2013 were 105.51 and 108.60 percent, respectively, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the 2012 baseline. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rates of farmers and NTUP farmers experienced a decrease of 0.19 and 0.12 percent, respectively.
  • Fishermen Exchange Rates (NTN) and NTUP Fisheries in South Sumatra in December 2013 were 100.62 and 103.00 percent, respectively. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen and NTUP fisheries dropped by 0.35 and 0.24 percent, respectively.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In December 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.07 percent, mainly due to the fall in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 0.24 percent.
