Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in February 2014 was 100.81 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, the February 2014 NTP decreased by 0.47 percent caused by a decrease in the price index received by farmers while the price index paid by farmers in general has increased.
  • The South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in February 2014 was 105.08 percent, indicating that in general farmers' purchasing power in February 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP February 2014 declined by 0.52 percent.
  • The NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in February 2014 was 100.81 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP without fishery in February 2014 decreased by 0.50 percent.
  • NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in February 2014 was 105.13 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP February 2014 decreased by 0.55 percent.
  • Based on the NTP sub-sector, in February 2014 the sub-sector experienced a decline compared to January 2014, namely the plantation sub-sector and the livestock sub-sector, each falling by 1.68 and 0.08 percent. While the sub-sectors that experienced an increase were the horticulture sub-sector, the food crops sub-sector and the fisheries sub-sector each increased by 1.21; 0.80; 0.36 percent.
  • NTUP plantation sub-sector in February 2014 compared to January 2014 experienced a decline compared to January 2014 ie from 107.63 percent to 105.68 percent or down 1.81 percent. While the NTUP sub-sector experienced an increase in February 2014 compared to January 2014 in the horticulture sub-sector, the food crops sub-sector, the fisheries sub-sector, and the livestock sub-sector respectively 1.19; 0.81; 0.31; 0.03 percent
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In February 2014, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.29 percent, all expenditure components experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the transportation and communication group of 0.44 percent.
