Abstract

1. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in February 2016 amounted to 94.99 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2016 still decreased compared to the base year 2012. When compared to the previous month, February 2016 NTP was also decreased, which decreased by 0.39 percent because the price index received by farmers was lower than the price index paid by farmers.

2. The South Sumatra Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in February 2016 amounted to 101.79 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. But when compared to the previous month, NTUP February 2016 dropped by 0.63 percent.

3. NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in February 2016 amounted to 94.81 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2016 also decreased compared to the 2012 base year. Likewise when compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in February 2016 also fell by 0.43 percent.

4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in February 2016 amounted to 101.56 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in February 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, NTUP in February 2016 decreased by 0 , 68 percent.

5. Based on the NTP and NTUP sub-sector, in February 2016 the sector experienced an increase compared to January 2016, namely the horticulture sector, fisheries sector, capture fisheries sector and aquaculture sector. Whereas the sector that experienced a decline was the plantation sector of the people and the livestock sector. While for the food crop sector, NTP has increased and NTUP has decreased.
Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farmer households. In February 2016 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced deflation of 0.10 percent. Expenditure groups that experienced deflation were foodstuffs and transportation and communication groups, while other expenditure groups experienced inflation
