Abstract

* The export value of South Sumatra in September 2016 increased by 5.52 percent compared to August 2016. However when compared to the same period in 2015 (January - September 2015) exports of South Sumatra Province decreased by 30.46 percent.

* The export value of South Sumatra Province in September 2016 was US $ 164.35 million, all of which was the result of exports of non-oil and gas commodities.

* Malaysia, Japan and the United States became the main destination countries for South Sumatra exports in the period January - September 2016, reaching US $ 162.91 million, US $ 141.39 million and US $ 237.43 million respectively, with the role of the three reaching 39.64 percent of total exports from January to September 2016.

* Exports to the European Union in January - September 2016 reached US $ 204.22 million (14.94 percent of total exports) and exports to ASEAN reached US $ 260.79 million (19.08 percent of total exports).

* According to Sector, compared to the period January - September 2015, industrial product exports from January to September 2016 decreased by 22.89 percent, exports of agricultural products decreased 6.46 percent and mining products decreased by 30.77 percent.

* The import value of South Sumatra in September 2016 was US $ 57.92 million or decreased by 4.18 percent compared to August 2016.

* The import of South Sumatra Province in September 2016 amounted to US $ 57.92 million consisting of oil and gas imports of US $ 3.11 million and non-oil and gas revenues of US $ 54.80 million.

* The role of total non-oil and gas imports during January - September 2016, the group of machines / mechanical aircraft gave the largest role, namely 58.56 percent, followed by imports of optical devices by 11.02 percent and electrical machinery / equipment at 9.68 percent.

* The largest country of origin of imports is January - September 2016, namely China with an import value of US $ 444.25 million, followed by the United States with import values ​​of US $ 79.42 million and Japan with import values ​​reaching US $ 59.98 million.

* Compared to January - September 2015, the import value of capital goods and auxiliary raw materials decreased by 16.60 percent and 31.08 percent respectively, while imports of consumer goods increased by 255.67 percent.
