Abstract
1. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in December 2016 amounted to 95.45 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2016 still decreased compared to the base year of 2012. However, compared to the previous month, NTP in December 2016 experienced an increase of 0.63 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is relatively higher compared to the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
2. The South Sumatra Agricultural Business Exchange (NTUP) in December 2016 amounted to 104.21 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. And when compared to the previous month, NTUP December 2016 rose by 1.12 percent.
3. NTP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in December 2016 amounted to 95.39 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December increased compared to the base year 2012. Likewise when compared to the previous month, FTT without fisheries in December 2016 increased by 0.66 percent.
4. NTUP without the South Sumatra Fisheries Sector in December 2016 amounted to 104.08 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in December 2016 was better than the base year of 2012. And when compared to the previous month, NTUP December 2016 also increased by 1.16 percent.
5. Based on the NTP subsector, in December 2016 the NTP subsector experienced an increase compared to November 2016, namely the Horticulture sub-sector, People's Plantation, Capture Fisheries while the other sub-sectors experienced a decline.
6. Based on the NTUP subsector, in December 2016 almost all NTUP subsectors increased compared to November 2016 and only the Livestock and Aquaculture sub-sectors experienced a decline.
7. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farmer households. In December 2016 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.72 percent. Where all expenditure groups experienced inflation, except for transportation and communication expenditure groups that experienced deflation.
