Abstract

The value of South Sumatra exports in July 2019 increased by 44.22 percent compared to the value of exports in June 2019. While when compared with the same period in 2018 (January - July 2018) exports of South Sumatra Province experienced a decrease of 5.14 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in July 2019 of US $ 436.65 million consisted of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 30.42 million and US $ 406.23 million which was the result of non-oil and gas commodity exports.
  • China, Malaysia and the United States of America became the main export destinations for South Sumatra in the January-July 2019 period, each reaching US $ 813.75 million, US $ 237.38 million and US $ 219.19 million, with the roles of the three reaching 52.22 percent of the total exports for the period January - July 2019.
  • The value of South Sumatra's imports in July 2019 was US $ 52.14 million, an increase of 2.24 percent compared to June 2019.
  • The South Sumatra Province's imports in July 2019 amounted to US $ 52.14 million consisting of oil and gas imports of US $ 3.43 million and non-oil and gas US $ 48.72 million.
  • The biggest countries of origin for the period January - July 2019 are China with an import value of US $ 113.45 million, followed by Malaysia with an import value of US $ 43.04 million and Canada with an import value reaching US $ 25.05.
