Abstract

  • South Sumatra Economic Growth in the second quarter of 2012 (q to q) of 4.2 percent with oil and gas and without oil and gas 5.3 increased compared to the conditions in the first quarter of 2011, while year-on-year (y on y) economic development experienced growth of 6 , 0 percent with oil and gas and without oil and gas 8.3.
  • The amount of GRDP based on current prices in the second quarter of 2012 reached Rp. 50.74 trillion with oil and gas and without oil and gas Rp. 38.65 trillion while the GRDP at constant 2000 prices in the same quarter was Rp. 17.89 trillion with oil and gas and without oil and gas Rp.14.53 trillion
  • In the second quarter of 2012, three sectors that experienced quite high growth (q to q) were the agricultural sector 11.1 percent, the construction sector 4.3 percent and the services sector 4.1 percent. Meanwhile year on year (y on y) growth was quite high, namely the transportation and communication sector 12.3 percent, the trade, hotel and restaurant sector grew 10.2 percent, and the financial, rental and business services sector grew by 9.2 percent
  • Concerning GRDP usage, in the second quarter of 2012 the usage component that grew (y on y) was quite high, namely imports grew by 22.07 percent, government consumption (9.2 percent), and PMTDB (9.1 percent). This high growth shows the economy of South Sumatra continues to grow. 
  • Growth in (q to q) GRDP usage in the second quarter of 2012 was quite high in the consumption and government components, which grew by 16.8 percent and 7.9 percent respectively.
