Abstract

In July 2012 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 356.59 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in July 2012 decreased by 12.33 percent compared to June 2012. Likewise when compared with the same period in 2011 (July 2011) the export of South Sumatra Province decreased by 20.98 percent.
The export value of South Sumatra Province in July 2012 amounted to US $ 356.59 million consisting of oil and gas exports amounting to US $ 62.45 million and US $ 294.13 from non-oil commodity exports. The non-oil and gas export value in July 2012 decreased by US $ 69.86 million from June 2012.
The United States, Malaysia and China are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - July 2012 reaching US $ 555.11 million, US $ 544.83 million and US $ 525.28 million, respectively, with the roles of the three 60.89 percent of total exports in January-July 2012.
Exports to the European Union in January - July 2012 reached US $ 289.36 million (10.84 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2011 which reached 508.99 Million. While ASEAN exports reached US $ 609.01 million (22.82 percent of total exports), an increase compared to the same period in 2011 with a value of US $ 540.19 million.
