Abstract

The city of Palembang in November 2012 experienced inflation of 0.24 percent as indicated by an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 132.69 (October 2012) to 133.01 (November 2012), while nationally there was inflation of 0.07 percent .
Inflation that occurred in the city of Palembang in November 2012 was due to an increase in the CPI in the health group (1.20 percent) followed by the clothing group (0.55 percent) followed by the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel group (0.28 percent) followed by the foodstuffs group (0.24 percent), the processed food, drinks, cigarettes and tobacco group (0.07 percent), then the education, recreation and exercise group (0.04 percent) and the transportation, communication and services group finance (0.01 percent).
2012 calendar year inflation in the city of Palembang was 2.39 percent while year on year inflation (November 2012 to November 2011) reached 2.74 percent.
Based on monitoring prices in 66 cities in Indonesia shows that 33 cities experienced inflation and 33 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Manado City (1.01 percent) and the lowest inflation occurred in Jember City (0.03 percent). While the highest deflation occurred in Manokwari City (-0.96 percent) and the lowest deflation occurred in Semarang City, Tangerang, Mataram and Singkawang (-0.01 percent)
