Abstract

The city of Palembang in November 2014 experienced inflation of 2.10 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2014 to November was 5.48 percent and the year on year inflation rate (November 2014 to November 2013) was 5.51 percent.
Palembang City in November 2014, based on seven (7) expenditure groups, experienced an increase in price index in all groups, namely transportation, communication & financial services by 4.61 percent; foodstuffs group of 4.31 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 1.01 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0.24 percent; education, recreation and sports group of 0.18 percent; clothing group by 0,16 percent; health group 0.13 percent.
Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Palembang included: red chili, gasoline, transportation costs within the city, administrative costs for transferring money, rice, finished cooking spices, electricity tariffs, and cayenne pepper. While commodities that experienced a price decline with the highest deflation share included air transportation, cucumbers, vegetable tomatoes, onions, potatoes and cabbage / cabbage.
The city of Lubuk Linggau in November 2014 experienced inflation of 2.07 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2014 to November was 6.13 percent and the year on year inflation rate (November 2014 to November 2013) was 6.02 percent.
Commodities that experienced price increases with the highest inflation share in Lubuk Linggau City during November 2014 included: red chili, gasoline, rice, and cayenne pepper. While commodities that experienced a decline in prices with the highest share of deflation included tomatoes, vegetables, spinach, potatoes, cabbage / white cabbage and chicken meat.
Based on the calculation of inflation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in November 2014 the South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 2.10 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to November 2014 was 5.54 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (November 2014 as of November 2013) was 5.56 percent.
Based on price monitoring during November 2014 in 82 CPI cities in Indonesia, it showed that all cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Padang (3.44 percent), the lowest occurred in the city of Manokwari (0.07 percent).
