Abstract

  • In October 2012 South Sumatra's exports reached a value of US $ 324.45 million. The value of South Sumatra exports in October 2012 decreased by 5.66 percent compared to September 2012. Likewise, when compared with the same period in 2011 (October 2011) exports of the South Sumatra Province decreased by 30.62 percent.
  • The export value of South Sumatra Province in October 2012 was US $ 324.45 million consisted of oil and gas exports of US $ 60.54 million and US $ 263.91 from non-oil commodity exports. The value of non-oil exports in October 2012 decreased by US $ 28.82 million from September 2012.
  • The United States, China and Malaysia are still the main destination countries for South Sumatra's exports, during January - October 2012 reaching US $ 772.26 million, US $ 740.53 million and US $ 737.95 million respectively, with the roles of the three reaching 60.51 percent of total exports in January-October 2012.
  • Exports to the European Union in January - October 2012 reached US $ 411.84 million (11.07 percent of total exports). Exports to the European Union have decreased compared to the same period in 2011 which reached 657.23 million. Meanwhile ASEAN's exports reached US $ 823.24 million (22.13 percent of total exports) or increased compared to the same period in 2011 with a value of US $ 736.95 million.
