Abstract
* The city of Palembang in December 2015 experienced inflation of 1.12 percent. The 2015 cumulative inflation rate and / or inflation rate "year on year" (December 2015 against December 2014) was 3.05 percent.
* Inflation of Palembang City in December 2015 based on expenditure groups, showed that 6 (six) groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group at 3.80 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.88 percent; the education, recreation and sports group by 0.41 percent; health group by 0.40 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0,32 percent; and the transportation, communication & financial services group by 0.10 percent. While 1 (one) expenditure group experienced a decline in the price index, namely the clothing group by -0.01 percent.
* Commodities experiencing price increases with the highest share of inflation in Palembang City include: red chillies, shallots, cork fish, leeks and chicken eggs. While commodities which experienced a decline in prices with the highest share of deflation included: cooking oil, katuk leaves, beans, cucumbers, and gold jewelry.
* Lubuk Linggau City in December 2015 experienced inflation of 1.41 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2015 to December was 3.47 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (December 2015 against December 2014) was 3.47 percent.
* Commodities experiencing price increases that caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in December 2015 included: red chillies, shallots, goldfish, rice and chicken eggs. While commodities which experienced the highest price decline included kale, cooking oil, household fuel, white cabbage / cabbage, and cucumber.
* Based on inflation calculation in Palembang city and Lubuk Linggau city, in December 2015 South Sumatra Province experienced inflation of 1.15 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to December 2015 was 3.10 percent and the inflation rate was "year on year" (December 2015 to December 2014) was 3.10 percent.
* Based on monitoring prices during December 2015 on 82 CPI cities in Indonesia, indicating that all CPI cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Merauke City (2.87 percent), the lowest was in Cirebon (0.27 percent).
