Abstract

The City of Palembang in July 2017 Has a Large Inflation (0.13 percent)

Palembang City's (cumulative) calendar year inflation until July 2017 is (2.08 percent). Inflation is "year on year" (July 2017 against July 2016) of (3.25 percent). Based on expenditure groups, it shows that 5 (five) expenditure groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group of (0.52 percent); processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of (0.31 percent); education, recreation and sports group by (0.17 percent); health group by (0.16 percent); and clothing group by (0.05 percent). While 2 (two) expenditure groups experienced a decrease in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group at (-0.13 percent); and the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group (-0.06 percent).

Commodities that experienced price increases which contributed to the biggest inflation contribution in Palembang City included air transport, cucumber, catfish, bananas, and chicken eggs.

The July 2017 inflation / deflation contribution of Palembang City based on component groups is the core component, inflation (0.0376 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: cung kediro, kindergarten, and rice with side dishes; government regulated component, inflation (0.1273 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: air transportation, filter clove cigarettes and clove cigarettes; and volatile components, deflation (-0.0376 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: cucumber, catfish and banana

Lubuk Linggau City in July 2017 Has a Large Deflation (-0.20 percent)

The (cumulative) calendar year inflation of Lubuk Linggau City until July 2017 is (2.63 percent). "Year on year" inflation (July 2017 against July 2016) is (3.96 percent).

Commodities that have decreased in price which caused deflation in Lubuk Linggau City in July 2017 include red chili, garlic, broiler meat, household fuel, and gold jewelery.

The inflation / deflation share of Lubuk Linggau City in July 2017 based on component groups is the core component, inflation (0.0213 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: granulated sugar, ground coffee and children's school uniforms; the component is regulated by the government deflation (-0.0262 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: household fuel and inter-city transportation; and volatile components, deflation (-0.1985 percent) with the highest contributing commodities: red chili, garlic and chicken meat.

South Sumatra Province in July 2017 Has a Large Inflation (0.10 percent)

The (cumulative) Calendar Year Inflation of South Sumatra Province until July 2017 is (2.14 percent). Furthermore, inflation "year on year" (July 2017 against July 2016) is 3.32 percent.

Based on price monitoring during July 2017 in 82 CPI Cities in Indonesia, indicating that 59 CPI Cities experienced inflation, while in 23 CPI Cities there was deflation. The highest inflation occurred in the city of Bau-bau by (2.44 percent), the lowest in the city of Meulaboh by (0.01 percent). While the highest deflation occurred in Merauke City (-1.50 percent), the lowest in Metro City and Probolinggo City at (-0.07 percent).
