Abstract

The economy of South Sumatra Province which is measured based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GDP) on the basis of current prices in the first semester of 2017 reached Rp 187.17 trillion and on the basis of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 137.66 trillion.

The economy of the Province of South Sumatra in the first semester of 2017 against the first semester of 2016 grew 5.19 percent (c-to-c) increased compared to the same period in 2016 of 5.01 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by Transportation and Warehousing by 9.32 percent.

The economy of South Sumatra Province in the second quarter of 2017 compared to the second quarter of 2016 grew by 5.24 percent (y-on-y) compared to the same period in 2016 of 5.08 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by Transportation and Warehousing of 9.86 percent. In terms of expenditure by the Overseas Export Component which grew by 71.11 percent.

Economy of the Province of South Sumatra in the second quarter of 2017 against the previous quarter rose to 3.68 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, this growth was caused by Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries which grew 8.04 percent. While in terms of expenditure, it was caused more by the Government Consumption Expenditure component which grew 19.44 percent.
