Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in January 2011 was 108.17 percent, indicated
    that in general the purchasing power of farmers in January 2011 was better than the base year 2007. If
    compared to the previous month, the January 2011 NTP did not change or amounted to 0.36
    percent, which is due to an increase in the price index received by farmers in general is greater if
    compared to the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in January 2011 amounted to 119.13 percent, indicating that farmers rice and secondary crops are relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. When compared to the month previously, the NTP of rice and crops in January 2011 rose by 0.77 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in January 2011 amounted to 117.65 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers better than base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, horticultural NTP month December fell by 0.09 percent.
  • The NTP of Smallholder Plantations (Farmers) in South Sumatra in January 2011 was 90.56 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra still experience a fairly high deficit. However if Compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in January 2011 increased by 0.32 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rates in South Sumatra in January 2011 amounted to 105.65 percent, indicating that the level of welfare of farmers is relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers had decreased by 0.72 percent
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in January 2011 was 113.98 percent. When compared to the previous month, the fisherman exchange rate rose by 0.79 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by households the farmer. In January 2011 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.03 percent, mainly due to the increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 1.51 percent.
