Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in March 2011 amounted to 108.89 percent, indicating that
    in general the purchasing power of farmers in March 2011 was better than the base year 2007. If
    compared to the previous month, the March 2011 NTP rose by 0.62 percent, which was due
    the increase in the price index received by farmers in general is greater than the increase in the price index
    paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in March 2011 amounted to 119.40 percent, indicating that farmers rice and pulses are relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. However, when compared to the month Previously, the NTP of rice and crops in March 2011 increased by 0.63 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in March 2011 was 115.49 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers better than the base year 2007. But when compared with the previous month, NTP horticulture March decreased by 0.44 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (Planters) in South Sumatra in March 2011 was 93.46 percent, shows that planters in South Sumatra are still experiencing deficits. But when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers in March 2011 increased by 1.49 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rates in South Sumatra in March 2011 amounted to 105.71 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers is relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the farmer's exchange rate had increased by 0.18 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in March 2011 was 114.86 percent. If compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 0.46 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by households the farmer. In March 2011 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.13 percent, mainly due to the decline in the price index of the foodstuffs and education, recreation and sports groups body respectively by 0.79 and 0.46 percent
