Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP) * South Sumatra in June 2011 amounted to 110.96 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in June 2011 was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the June 2011 NTP fell by 0, 05 percent, which is due to an increase in the price index paid by farmers in general is greater than the increase in the price index received by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in June 2011 was 122.92 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. However, when compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in June 2011 rose by 0.58 percent .
  • Horticulture NTP in June 2011 was 115.92 percent, meaning that the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, June's horticultural FTT fell by 1.39 percent.
  • The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in June 2011 was 95.68 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra were still experiencing a deficit. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in June 2011 increased by 0.06 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in June 2011 was 104.76 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced a decrease of 0.64 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in June 2011 was 116.26 percent. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen fell by 0.19 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In June 2011, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.46 percent, mainly due to an increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 0.82 percent.
