Abstract

  • ·Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP) * South Sumatra in April 2011 amounted to 110.76 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2011 was better than the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, April 2011 NTP rose by 1.72 percent, which was due to an increase in the index the price received by farmers is generally greater than the increase in the price index paid by farmers
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in April 2011 was 121.39 percent, indicating that farmers rice and pulses are relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. However, when compared to the month previously, the NTP of rice and crops in April 2011 rose by 1.66 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in April 2011 was 116.55 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers better than the base year 2007. But when compared with the previous month, NTP horticulture April rose by 0.92 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in April 2011 was 96.28 percent, shows that planters in South Sumatra are still experiencing deficits. But when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in April 2011 increased 3.03 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rates in South Sumatra in April 2011 amounted to 105.63 percent, indicating that the level of welfare of farmers is relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, farmer exchange rates decreased by 0.07 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in April 2011 was 116.00 percent. If compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 1.00 percent
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by households the farmer. In April 2011 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.58 percent, mainly due to the decrease in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 1.32 percent.
