Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in November 2012 amounted to 110.66 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2012 was better than the base year 2007. If Compared to the previous month, the November 2012 NTP increased by 0.23 due to the increase in the price index received by farmers in general was higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in November 2012 amounted to 126.36 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in November2012 rose by 0.63 percent.
  • Horticultural NTP in November 2012 amounted to 112.71 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, NTP November's horticulture dropped by 0.63 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in November 2012 was 92.95 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra were still experiencing a deficit. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers in November 2012 increased by 0.36 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in November 2012 was 104.49 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.58 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in November 2012 was 115.74 percent. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 0.13 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In November 2012 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.15 percent, mainly due to the rise in the price index of housing and health groups by 0.45 percent respectively.
