Abstract

  • Palembang The city of Palembang in March 2012 experienced inflation of 0.04 percent as indicated by
    the increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 129.56 (February 2012) to 129.61 (March 2012),
    while nationally there was inflation of 0.07 percent.
  • Inflation that occurred in Palembang City in March 2012 was due to an increase in CPI in the group
    processed foods, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco (0.68 percent), housing, water, electricity and materials
    fuel (0.41 percent), the clothing group (0.39 percent), the health group (0.34 percent), the group
    education, recreation and sports (0.01 percent) and the transportation and communication group (0.03 percent).
  • 2012 calendar year inflation in Palembang City was -0.23 percent, while inflation was “year on
    year ”(March 2012 to March 2011) was 3.82 percent.
  • Based on price monitoring in 66 cities in Indonesia, it shows that 34 cities experience inflation
    and 32 cities experienced deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Ambon City (1.33 percent) and the lowest inflation
    occurred in Malang City (0.01 percent), while the highest deflation was in Jayapura City (-1.44 percent)
    and the lowest deflation occurred in Pekanbaru City (-0.03 percent).
