Abstract

1. Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in November 2014 amounted to 99.49 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2014 decreased compared to the base year of 2012. Meanwhile, when compared to the previous month, NTP November 2014 decreased by 0.38 percent due to an increase in the price index received by farmers is lower than the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general.
2. South Sumatra Agricultural Exchange (NTUP) in November 2014 was 104.66 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP November 2014 rose by 0.18 percent.
3. NTP Without the Fisheries Sector of South Sumatra in November 2014 was 99.44 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2014 declined compared to the base year of 2012. However, when compared to the previous month, the FTT without fisheries in November 2014 decreased by 0 , 35 percent.
4. NTUP Without the Fisheries Sector of South Sumatra in November 2014 amounted to 104.74 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in November 2014 was better than the base year of 2012. When compared to the previous month, NTUP November 2014 rose by 0.28 percent.
5. Based on NTP and NTUP sub-sectors, in November 2014 almost all sub-sectors experienced a decline compared to October 2014 except for the smallholder plantations sub-sector. The NTP and NTUP which experienced the highest decrease occurred in the livestock sub-sector, which fell 1.77 percent and 1.44 percent respectively, the food crops sub-sector respectively 1.23 and 0.21 percent respectively, the horticulture sub-sector respectively down 0.49 and 0.04 percent, the fisheries sub-sector were down 1.02 and 2.18 percent respectively while the FTT and NTUP plantation sub-sectors respectively increased by 0.57 and 1.11 percent.
6. Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In November 2014 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 1.86 percent, all expenditure groups experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in the transportation and communication group by 4.29 percent
