Abstract
* The city of Palembang in January 2016 experienced inflation of 0.32 percent. The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.32 percent. While the inflation rate "year on year" (January 2016 to January 2015) was 4.58 percent.
* Inflation in Palembang City in January 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 5 (five) groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group by 0.89 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0,80 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.43 percent; clothing group by 0.13 percent; health group by 0.07 percent.
While 2 (two) expenditure groups experienced a decrease in the price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group of -0.74 percent and the education, recreation and sports group by -0.14 percent.
* Commodities experiencing price increases with the highest share of inflation in Palembang include: race chicken meat, electricity tariffs, shallots, cung kediro, rice and filter clove cigarettes. While commodities which experienced price declines include: gasoline, red chili, beans, long beans, cucumbers, household fuels and diesel.
* Lubuk Linggau City in January 2016 experienced inflation of 0.49 percent. The cumulative inflation rate from 2016 to January is 0.49 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (January 2016 to January 2015) is 5.15 percent.
* Commodities that experienced price increases that caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in January 2016 included: chicken meat, shallots, filtered clove cigarettes, house rent, electricity and garlic rates. While commodities which experienced the highest price decline included oranges, gasoline, cassava leaves, long beans, cayenne pepper, and white cabbage / cabbage.
* Based on the inflation calculation in the city of Palembang and the city of Lubuk Linggau, in January 2016 the Province of South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.33 percent, the cumulative inflation rate up to January 2016 was 0.33 percent and the inflation rate was "year on year" (January 2016 to January 2015) is 4.64 percent.
