Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in August 2011 was 109.44 percent, indicated that in general the purchasing power of farmers in August 2011 was better than the base year 2007. However When compared to the previous month, the August 2011 NTP fell by 0.09 percent, which was caused because the increase in the price index paid by farmers in general is greater than the increase in the price index received by farmers.
  • NTP Padi & Palawija in South Sumatra in August 2011 was 121.26 percent, indicating that paddy and palawija farmers are relatively prosperous compared to the 2007 base year. When compared to the month Previously, the NTP of rice and crops in August 2011 rose by 0.02 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in August 2011 was 117.03 percent, which means the level of welfare of horticultural farmers better than base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, horticultural NTP month August rose by 0.43 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in August 2011 was 92.62 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra are still experiencing a deficit. But when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in August 2011 decreased by 0.58 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rates in South Sumatra in August 2011 amounted to 104.28 percent, indicating that the level of welfare of farmers is relatively better compared to the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers had decreased by 0.17 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in August 2011 was 116.01 percent. When compared to the previous month, the fisherman exchange rate rose by 0.08 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by households the farmer. In August 2011 rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.51 percent, mainly due to the increase in the price index of the foodstuffs group by 0.66 percent.
