Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in October 2012 amounted to 110.40 percent, generally indicating that the purchasing power of farmers in October 2012 was better than the base year 2007. If Compared to the previous month, the October 2012 NTP increased by 0.38 due to the increase in the price index received by farmers in general was higher than the increase in the price index paid by farmers.
  • The NTP of Rice & Palawija in South Sumatra in October 2012 was 125.58 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and crops in October 2012 rose by 0.31 percent.
  • Horticulture NTP in October 2012 was 113.42 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, October horticultural NTP rose by 0.35 percent.
  • The NTP of People's Plantation Plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in October 2012 was 91.92 percent, indicating that planters in South Sumatra were still experiencing a deficit. When compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers in October 2012 increased by 0.51 percent.
  • Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in October 2012 was 105.10 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.45 percent.
  • The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in October 2012 was 115.58 percent. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen rose by 0.36 percent.
  • Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In October 2012, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced inflation of 0.22 percent, mainly due to an increase in the clothing group price index by 0.47 percent.
