Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) * South Sumatra in April 2013 was 110.26 percent, indicating that in general the purchasing power of farmers in April 2013 was better than the base year 2007. However, when compared with the previous month, April 2013 NTP decreased by 0, 01 due to the decrease in the price index received by farmers is generally higher than the decrease in the index of prices paid by farmers.
The NTP of Paddy & Palawija in South Sumatra in April 2013 was 124.78 percent, indicating that rice and palawija farmers were relatively prosperous compared to the base year 2007. When compared to the previous month, the NTP of rice and palawija in April 2013 rose by 0.11 percent.
Horticulture NTP in April 2013 was 112.19 percent, meaning the level of welfare of horticultural farmers was better than the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, April's horticultural NTP rose by 0.21 percent.
The NTP of smallholder plantations (planters) in South Sumatra in April 2013 was 93.14 percent, indicating that the purchasing power of planters in South Sumatra was still lower than the base year 2007. Whereas, when compared to the previous month, the exchange rate of planters in April 2013 also down 0.55 percent.
Farmer Exchange Rate in South Sumatra in April 2013 was 104.68 percent, indicating that the welfare level of farmers was relatively better compared to the base year 2007. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of farmers experienced an increase of 0.46 percent.
The Fishermen Exchange Rate (NTN) in South Sumatra in April 2013 was 114.10 percent. When compared with the previous month, the exchange rate of fishermen dropped by 0.23 percent.
Rural inflation / deflation is indicated by changes in the price index of goods and services consumed by farm households. In April 2013, rural areas in South Sumatra experienced a deflation of 0.19 percent, mainly due to a deflation in the price index of the foodstuffs group of 0.58 percent.
