Abstract

The economic growth of South Sumatra with oil and gas in 2013 amounted to 5.98 percent, slowing compared to 2012 which grew by 6.01 percent. While economic growth without oil and gas in 2013 was 7.34 percent, lower than in 2012 which was 7.94 percent. The main sources of growth are the trade, hotel and restaurant sector, the manufacturing sector and the agriculture sector
The magnitude of South Sumatra's GRDP in 2013 based on current prices reached Rp 231.68 trillion, while on the basis of constant 2000 prices it reached Rp 76.41 trillion.
On a quarterly basis, South Sumatra's GRDP in quarter IV / 2013 decreased by minus 1.62 percent compared to quarter III / 2013 (q-to-q), and when compared to quarter IV / 2012 (y-on-y) it grew by 6, 55 percent.
On the usage side, most of South Sumatra's GRDP was used to meet household consumption by 64.28 percent, private non-profit institutions consumption 1.1 percent, government consumption 10.46 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation or physical investment 27.58 percent and net exports minus 4.18 (exports of 40.04 percent and imports of 44.22 percent).
If we look at the growth per component of the GRDP of Usage, the components that experienced a slowdown were government consumption and PMTB. Export growth increased from 2.56 percent in 2012 to 6.36 percent in 2013. Import growth slowed from 15.59 percent in 2012 to 9.81 percent in 2013.
The main sources of economic growth 5.98 percent in terms of use are household consumption 5.54 percent, followed by exports 2.77 percent, gross fixed capital formation (PMTB) 2.18 percent, government consumption 0.39 percent and private non-profit institution consumption 0.06 percent with a reduction in the import component by 4.32 percent.
South Sumatra's per-capita income based on current prices in 2013 reached Rp.25.13 million, higher than in 2012 which amounted to Rp22.71 million.
