Abstract

South Sumatra Economic Growth with oil and gas in 2011 increased by 6.5 percent compared to 2010 which amounted to 5.6 percent. While economic growth without oil and gas in 2011 reached 8.0 percent, higher than in 2010 which amounted to 7.0 percent.The main sources of growth are the agriculture, building, and trade, hotels and sectors restaurant.
The magnitude of South Sumatra's GRDP in 2011 at current prices reached Rp 181.78 trillion, whereas on the basis of constant 2000 prices it reached Rp 68.01 trillion.
On a quarterly basis, South Sumatra's GRDP in quarter IV / 2011 decreased by minus 2.8 percent compared with quarter III / 2011 (q-to-q), and when compared to quarter IV / 2010 (y-on-y) it grew by 7.6 percent
On the usage side, most of South Sumatra's GRDP in 2011 was used to fulfill household consumption by 63.5 percent, private institutions consumption without profit 1.2 percent, consumption government 10.6 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation or physical investment 24.7 percent net exports 0.1 percent (exports 41.0 percent and imports 40.9 percent).
If we see the growth of GDP in the fourth quarter (q to q), imports and government consumption are growing the highest was 11.4 percent and 5.4 percent, respectively. While growth is yo y TW IV years 2011 was dominated by imports and PMTDB with achievements of 33.08 percent and 11.76 percent respectively. From a series of quarterly economic activities, cumulatively economic growth in 2011 amounted to 6.5 percent. Three sectors that grew expansively in 2011 were imports (23.5 percent), exports (14.8 percent) and PMTDB (11.6 percent)
South Sumatra's per-capita income at current prices in 2011 reached IDR 20.33 million, higher than in 2010 which was IDR 17.95 million.
