Abstract

  • South Sumatra Economic Growth with oil and gas in 2010 amounted to 5.4 percent increased
    compared to 2009 which amounted to 4.1 percent. While economic growth without
    oil and gas in 2010 reached 7.0 percent, higher than in 2009 which amounted to 5.1 percent.
    The main sources of growth are the manufacturing sector and the trade, hotel and sector
    restaurant.
  • The magnitude of South Sumatra's GRDP in 2010 at current prices reached Rp 157.77 trillion, whereas on the basis of constant 2000 prices it reached Rp 63.74 trillion.
  •  On a quarterly basis, South Sumatra's GRDP in quarter IV / 2010 decreased by minus 3.7 percent compared with quarter III / 2010 (q-to-q), and when compared to quarter IV / 2009 (y-on-y) it grew by 6.0 percent
  •  On the usage side, most of South Sumatra's GRDP in 2010 was used to fulfill household consumption by 64.4 percent, consumption of non-profit private institutions 1.2 percent, consumption government 10.1 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation or physical investment 23.6 percent net exports of 1.2 percent (exports 36.2 percent and imports 35.0 percent).
  •  All components of GRDP usage experienced growth in 2010, with growth the highest in imports was 14.0 percent, followed by exports 11.8 percent, government consumption 9.8 percent, gross domestic fixed capital formation 7.8 percent, and household consumption growth by 6.0 percent.
  • If a comparison is made between quarter IV / 2010 and quarter III / 2010 (q-to-q), the components are the highest growth rates are government consumption (18.5 percent) and exports (4.3 percent), and when compared to quarter IV / 2009 (y-on-y) the component with the highest growth is government consumption (16.1 percent) and imports (12.9 percent).
  • South Sumatra's per-capita income at current prices in 2010 reached IDR 17.99 million, higher than in 2009 which was IDR 16.14 million.
