The city of Palembang in February 2016 experienced a deflation of -0.11 percent while the Lubuk Linggau City experienced a deflation of -0.43 percent

* The city of Palembang in February 2016 experienced a deflation of (-0.11 percent). The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.21 percent. While the deflation rate of "year on year" (February 2016 to February 2015) was 4.98 percent.

Palembang City inflation in February 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 3 (three) groups experienced a decrease in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group by -1.01 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group of -0.55 percent; the education, recreation and sports group by -0.35 percent. While 4 (four) expenditure groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group by 1.53 percent; health group by 0.86 percent; clothing group by 0.12 percent; the transportation, communication & financial services group by 0.02 percent.

* Commodities that have decreased in price with the highest share of deflation in Palembang include: chicken meat, electricity tariffs, shallots, vegetable tomatoes, and television. While commodities experiencing price increases include: filtered clove cigarettes, clove cigarettes, beans, rice and wet shrimp.

* Lubuk Linggau City in February 2016 experienced a deflation of (-0.43 percent). The cumulative inflation rate from 2016 to February is 0.06 percent and the deflation rate of "year on year" (February 2016 to February 2015) is 5.88 percent.

* Commodities that have decreased in price which caused deflation in Lubuk Linggau City in February 2016 include: chicken meat, shallots, vegetable tomatoes, electricity tariffs and red chillies. While commodities that experienced the highest price increases included filter clove cigarettes, log wood, clove cigarettes, tempeh and cucumber.
