* The city of Palembang in April 2016 experienced deflation of (-0.19 percent). The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 0.24 percent. While the inflation rate "year on year" (April 2016 against April 2015) is 4.19 percent.

* The city of Palembang in April 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 3 (three) groups experienced a decline in the price index, namely the transportation, communication & financial services group of -1.52 percent; foodstuffs group at -0.41 percent; and the housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by -0.07 percent. While 4 (four) expenditure groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the processed food, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group by 1.02 percent; health group by 0.57 percent; clothing group by 0.29 percent; and the education, recreation and sports group by 0.17 percent.

* Commodities that experience price declines that cause deflation in Palembang City include gasoline, red chili, rice, air transportation and electricity tariffs. While commodities experiencing price increases include: vegetable tomatoes, cooking oil, filtered clove cigarettes, shallots and cung kediro.

* Lubuk Linggau City in April 2016 experienced a deflation of (-0.75 percent). The cumulative inflation rate from 2016 to April is -0.12 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (April 2016 to April 2015) is 4.63 percent.

* Commodities that have decreased in price which caused deflation in Lubuk Linggau City in April 2016 included red chili, gasoline, shallots, broiler eggs and rice. While commodities that experienced the highest price increases included vegetable tomatoes, white cabbage / cabbage, oranges, house contracts, and instant dry noodles.
