The city of Palembang in October 2016 experienced a deflation of -0.08 percent while the Lubuk Linggau City experienced inflation of 0.32 percent

* The cumulative inflation rate in 2016 was 2.41 percent. While the inflation rate "year on year" (October 2016 to October 2015) is 4.27 percent. The city of Palembang in October 2016 based on expenditure groups, showed that 2 (two) groups experienced a decrease in the price index, namely the foodstuffs group at (-1.17 percent); and clothing group (-0.01 percent). While the 5 (five) expenditure groups experienced an increase in the price index, namely the health group; and the education, recreation and sports group respectively by 0.02 percent; transportation, communication & financial services group of 0.11 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas & fuel group by 0,40 percent; processed foods, beverages, cigarettes & tobacco group of 0.47 percent.
Commodities that have decreased prices which caused deflation in the city of Palembang include: shallots, broiler meat, chicken eggs, potatoes and cooking oil. While commodities that experienced price increases include: electricity tariffs, filter clove cigarettes, red chillies, apples, vegetable tomatoes, dencis fish and air transportation.

* The cumulative inflation rate of 2016 to October is 2.16 percent and the inflation rate "year on year" (October 2016 to October 2015) is 3.83 percent.

* Commodities that experienced price increases that caused inflation in Lubuk Linggau City in October 2016 included red chillies, tempeh, cooking oil, vegetable tomatoes, log beams, clove cigarettes, household fuels and electricity tariffs. While the commodities that experienced the highest price decline included potatoes, shallots, granulated sugar, chicken eggs, apples and cucumbers.
